Description
Abstract:Wine got unique attention and respect already in the ancient culture. Ancient Egyptian Papyri and Sumerian tablets dating back to 2200 BC detail the medicinal role of wine. Wine and health is an issue of considerable discussion and research. While alcohol is a known carcinogen that can increase the risk of developing breast cancer, recent studies suggest that resveratrol, which can be found in wine, may be able to decrease production of estrogen metabolites which promote the development of cancerous tumors in the breast. Wine has positive medical benefits for vision, weight management, bones, cardiovascular system, diabetes, dementia and mental functions, digestive system, psychological and social symptoms.
