| Abstract: | The aim of this thesis is to introduce the evolution of electronic documentary payments from the eUCP credit under the eUCP to the Bank Payment Obligation (BPO) under the URBPO. The thesis is intended to investigate after a thorough research the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the electronic documentary payments as well as to give an insight into the peculiarities in their functioning and in the specialties concerning the rules relating to them. The final objective of the thesis is to answer whether the electronic documentary payments can ultimately replace their conventional paper-based counterparts as the technology develops. |
