Description
Abstract:In today’s tourism labor market, possibilities are starting to open more and more every day. Hence, it is important for hotels to understand the role of their human capital in order to reach their financial goals. These goals can only be achieved with the right people: those employees who find working for a hotel as their main line of work. Once these employees are spotted, it is necessary to keep their motivation levels at high points in order to also positively influence their performance. Therefore, hotels – and companies in general, have realized the need of implementing staff benefits for their employees as a way to rise motivation levels. Although there are many different methods that can be implemented as tools to stimulate staff, such methods can only have a share of the impact on their performance. Other components of employee motivation include salaries, work environment and career opportunities. This paper will aim to determine to which extent these benefits can be used as a motivation tool applied to the Corinthia Hotel Budapest and what is their relation to all other possible components of such motivation.
