| Abstract: | Azerbaijan was one of the countries that opened its doors to the world with the collapse of the USSR. After gaining its independence in 1991, Azerbaijan decided to transition to a market economy and opened its doors to foreign capital. Today, Azerbaijan is one of the largest oil exporters. Tourism in the Azerbaijan economy can be turned into the most profitable and most valuable sector after the oil sector. Tourism positively affects the deficit in the balance of payments, foreign trade, regional economy and infrastructure by providing foreign currency input to the country. The development of tourism plays an important role not only as a source of income, but also in solving social problems, especially in increasing employment and increasing the welfare and spiritual wealth of the population |
