In my dissertation, I will present firstly the functioning of these funds and then the process of how the nationalisation went through between the period of 1998 and 2011. After these, I will present why the people chose this kind of retirement saving method. Furthermore, I will show what was the government’ aim when introducing it. Secondly, I will mention the role of employee contributions, why it was important and how it functioned. Thirdly I will introduce the second pillar of the Hungarian pension system. It was the defined contribution system with individual retirement account. Focusing on how it worked, what were the contributions and benefits. Then finally I will present what were the processes of nationalisation. Why it was necessary and what effect did it have on the pension system in Hungary. | |
