Kivonat: | COVID-19, declared as a pandemic by WHO on 12 March 2020, significantly impacted the global economic, political, socio-cultural systems and suspended international tourism and travel. The hospitality industry has taken a big hit and has a long road ahead of recovery. Moreover, this crisis also had an effect on the purchasing power and behavior of tourists and their intention to travel in general. Now people became more sensitive towards the health and safety standards. Therefore, tourism and hospitality industry businesses need to develop the right service delivery, which meets both new customers’ expectations and fits the firm’s resources and capabilities. This research will have a look on how coronavirus pandemic affected the travel preferences of Millennials or Generation Y. For this, the following objectives were set: to identify the COVID-19 impact on the tourism and hospitality industry; to define Millennials’ features as traveler group, as one of the most numerous generations in history and one of the most influential generations when it comes to consumer power; to highlight changes in Millennials’ purchasing behavior due to global pandemic and factors that influence their travel decision-making process. |
