520 3 |a In a globalized world, economies benefit from the integration with other economies, by using regional and global networks for the development and growth of economies. And like it is in other CEE countries, for Hungary and Czech Republic foreign trade activities, participation in the global market is an essential part of the economy and has an important contribution to the economy of analyzed countries. In this thesis work, we analyzed the main trade partners of Hungary and Czech Republic, their product composition and nature of products which are main traded goods, in export activities, in import activities. We use RCA index analyze to show how the comparativeness of countries emerged from 2009 to 2018. We analyzed trade activities in both value terms, gross value, and value-added terms. In order to be able to demonstrate the characteristics and ownership of trade actors, we conducted FDI analyze as well as GVC participation of countries, from the point of view of ownership of entities. From international trade patterns, we found out that, Germany as one of the biggest economies in the EU, is the main trade partner of both countries, which is worth analysing in a separate chapter, which also consisted of IIT index analyses. On the other hand, trade relation with China as one of the main import trade partners creates the biggest trade deficit in partner level for Hungary and the Czech Republic analyzed to show how the trade patterns evolved between countries.
