Kivonat:In recent years, Vietnamese consumers tend to switch from traditional cash payment to digital payment when shopping in supermarkets and retail malls. Especially in the challenging setting of the COVID-19 pandemic, e-commerce has become an effective method of purchasing and selling for Vietnamese businesses, resulting in the flourishing development of e-payment. Yet, there remains a huge number of legal, environmental, and other constraints that Fintech companies must overcome in order to provide digital payment services in Vietnam. This study will offer us with a broad view of the Vietnamese digital payment market, as well as how Fintech companies have already provided this service. It will put emphasis not only on the opportunities for growth, but also on the challenges that Fintech businesses must face when operating digital payment services in Vietnam. Our hypothesis is that in the next ten years, digital payment will have the biggest market share in Vietnam. This statement will be supported mainly by secondary research. The paper is structured utilizing the conceptual content analysis technique, beginning with a broad definition of Fintech then moving on to a comprehensive examination of the issues and potential of digital payment in Vietnam. This study would give Fintech companies an opportunity to understand and conduct future research on digital payment not only in the Vietnam market but also in other markets across the world.
