| Abstract: | The main aim of this study is to give an overview of the FinTech landscape with a focus on its services that are suitable for small and medium enterprises, reason being that small businesses have a history of struggling to get financial support. The chosen geographical area to showcase the combination of the two was the United Kingdom, as it is both the leading FinTech hub in Europe and small businesses are the back of its economy. In the United Kingdom, small businesses account for 99% of the total business population and take up more than 52% of the GDP yet receive less than 20% of total business loans. With trying to revolutionize the financial sector, FinTech may offer a long-term solution to their financing issues. To explore this, current trends are being discussed in the paper as well as future prospects to a fruitful collaboration. |
