| Kivonat: | In this dissertation I would like to emphasize the importance of cultural awareness, in order to obviate the inconsistencies between Turkish residents and tourists. It could be argued that tourists are always prepared for the chosen destination’s culture. The chosen topic can be interpreted by far too little attention has been paid to cultural differences and the consequences of this. Local residents can put tourism above their culture or they may find tourists’ exploits disrespectful. There is not enough awareness from the tourists and travel agencies don’t put enough emphasis on preparing them for differences. |
