Abstract: | I chose this topic because I am interested in the world of wine, especially because I travel a lot in my free time when I have the chance. When I visit a place, I like to taste the local wines and find out about their history, geography and origin. I started my thesis with an introduction to the wine regions, as it is essential to have the right background information when doing research. I then moved on to the literature section, where I felt that knowledge of marketing was also crucial, and especially wine marketing. I dedicated a separate chapter to how Covid-19 has affected wine tourism, as the pandemic has affected all sectors of the economy. I have interviewed 6 wineries and sent a questionnaire to the wine-drinking community to answer my research questions. From the Balatonboglár wine area, I had the pleasure of interviewing Trunkó Family Cellar, Wineyard Bujdosó and Garamvári Estate. And from the Villány wine area, I had interviews with Miháy Takács Cellar, Sauska Winery, and Attila Gere Winery. After my own research part, I summarized the results with pie and bar charts and made suggestions on how I think wine tourism should be taken to a higher level through online marketing and how Hungarian wine could become more prestigious. |
