Description
Abstract:The modern view states that the company's value consists of the following factors: number of employees, competencies, ambition, and goals. An excellent leadership can provide appropriate working conditions that boost the motivation of employees to perform in their best manner. Well-qualified workers are essential for adequately implemented processes. In a growing organisation, it is necessary to provide training and development programs for workers to improve their performance that helps achieve the company's set goals. However, different companies require different training techniques. The dissertation aims at the perceived effectiveness of training and development programs within large organisations: the term "effectiveness" does not cover profitability in the research. To talk about the perceived effectiveness of such development activities in merit, in the literature review, such topics are revealed that provide a deeper understanding of the applied Human Resource Development interventions within the particular company, Roto Elzett Certa Ltd. The topics revealed in the thesis are the following: Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, and workplace learning. The research reveals and assesses the training and development programs with a questionnaire and interviews in this particular company. One of the main development interventions in the company is the mentor program, which is introduced in the thesis. These answers contain useful information on how the applied developmental activities can be improved to enhance their effectiveness. Having conducted the research in this company, I have come to the conclusion that the company's success resides in motivated and well-qualified workers: the organisation emphasises internal development interventions, which aim to improve the workforce's competency improvement to remain competitive in the market.
