| Kivonat: | During the summer season of each year, massive peaks occur in the tourist sector of European countries. Air travel has enormous environmental impacts on passenger numbers and cannot be sustainable in the long term, even if they are currently working on new-generation airplanes. These impacts could be lowered if people chose rail transportation instead of air. The study seeks to determine whether taking a night train to summer vacation destinations in Europe is a viable option, reviews the willingness of people to switch from air and road travel to railroads, and looks into the future to get a forecast about this field. It has many advantages, which will be explained in this research, and encourages people to explore this alternative travel mode. |
