Description
Abstract:In my research, I searched for general corporate responsibility, focusing mainly on how it affects the Hungarian industry's concentrating more specifically on the social and environmental impact of the fashion industry. Globally it is a well known fact that sustainability is new trend and every business tries to be part of that, even if they are not as sustainable as they claim. I was really interested in knowing how this phenomenon takes place in Hungary. The most significant portion of the thesis concentrated on how well-known and popular eco-friendly companies in Hungary operate, with a focus on sustainability and greenwashing. As part of my research, I interviewed customers to learn more about their environmental responsibility and shopping patterns. By doing this, I determine the demand for slow fashion in Hungary. Additionally, I interviewed three sustainable fashion brands, Pinkponilo, Zöld Gardrób and Fanna fashion, to learn more about the inside operation of fashion brands. The research questions addressed in the paper are: Q1. What concrete actions can be taken by the fashion industry to operate in an environmentally friendly way Q2. Which Hungarian brands create ethical clothing and is it really as sustainable as they advertise it Q3. How eco-friendly Hungarian consumers are and how important green fashion is for them
