Possible effects of Metaverse in the tourism industry

| Kivonat: | In recent years, the metaverse has attracted enormous attention from around the world with the development of related technologies. Regarding metaverse’s huge potential, many industries has already come forward with advance preparation, accompanied by feverish investments. In this paper, I concentrate on the side of the tourism industry. My research contained different surveys for the tourism suppliers’ side and for side of the everyday consumers, travellers to get a clearer picture regarding their opinions. I highlight the industry possibilities within the Metaverse and that how would tourism itself benefit from the utilization of the virtual world. Firstly, I introduce the tourism industry, then give an insight of the technological improvements which helped the birth of Metaverse. Later, I examine the recently known usages, how colourful it is already. In the closing part of my research, I analyse my results and give my proposals regarding its possibilities within the tourism industry. |
