| 520 | 3 | |a The rapid integration of Vietnam into global production networks, also known as global value chains, as a consequence of Vietnam's policy of openness to trade and investment, has resulted in numerous socioeconomic successes that are readily apparent. Vietnam's participation in global value chains has increased substantially over the past two decades due to a rise in FDI exports. Textile is one of the industries that contribute significantly to economic growth, export encouragement, and the efficient resolution of the unemployment problem. In a little more than a decade, Vietnam has become the fourth largest exporter of apparel in the world, with major markets including the United States, China, EU and South Korea. This paper reflects on the nature of the global textile value chain and how Vietnam has become an important link in the chain with analytical data. In addition, it identifies the challenges textile corporations in Vietnam are facing and the solutions intended to enhance Vietnam's position in the global textile chain. | |
