Description
Abstract:The paper examines the reasons and factors why Germany, which lost WWII, competes with Britain in terms of economic development and labor productivity. We use official statistics to conduct research. Regression analysis was chosen as the methodological basis of the research. The analysis helps to make forecasts, evaluate results, and predict potential risks. An analysis of earlier studies shows higher productivity in German manufacturing before World War I and a sharp relative decline in the interwar period. We believe that the main structural shifts that explain the rapid development of losing Germany could have occurred during the Second World War.
