| 520 | 3 | |a Abstract Communication surrounds human society since human language was developed. The necessity and the importance of communication is undoubtable. However, it is still being underrated and ignored. This is the reason why this research is aimed at proving the power of communication, by discovering the deepest levels, namely manipulation, propaganda and brainwashing. The question what this paper discusses is what makes a liar creditable, in other words how can lies be sold as truths. As a communication and media studies student, I do hold the impression that communication gives too much power and yet people do not recognize it, that is why the main purpose of this research is to reveal the power of communication, to prove its importance and to emphasize the global issue it gives rise to. My desk research consists of the examination of the relevant sources. The discussed theories and concepts will be illustrated through three case study analysis relating to each chapter. During my research I contacted two infamous psychologist and psycholinguistic professor in order to ask an expert’s opinion on certain matters. As a conclusion, I would say that in order to be a creditable liar the focus should be on the method of communication, instead of the content. Every lie can be sold as truth if the communication is planned. | |
