Kivonat: | I am certainly convinced that every Hungarian citizen would describe Hungary as a wine nation, world-wide famous of its wines, especially of Tokaj the king of wines – the wine of kings. The question may arise whether this opinion is true according to the rest of the world, outside of Hungarian borders. In order to gain international acknowledgement, Hungary should export enough to establish this reputation in the eyes of foreign people, because international acknowledgement influences the prices, export volume of Hungarian wine products. The question is whether this opinion is true according to the rest of the world, outside of Hungarian borders or not, what the reason may be, that they are under-represented on foreign shelves. In this thesis I am examining the circumstances and possible reasons, so it would be true abroad, that a foreign customer took a bottle of Hungarian wine off a shelf. If a foreign customer would not do so, I am looking for reasons for this, like what are the strengths and weaknesses, advantages and disadvantages of Hungarian wine industry which influence the export performance of this sector. These are the questions which this thesis deals with. Browsing through sector-related sources – websites, books, magazines – I tried to explore the world of Hungarian wine export. I have conducted interviews with high professionals related to this topic such as Éva Barta, wine export expert and a survey with famous Hungarian wineries. I have dug deep into Hungarian provisions of wine related sites and opportunities for export and sales support. My aim was to discover the weak points, the possible failures, their reasons and origins of the pre-suspected low performance of Hungarian wines at international levels. |
