| 520 | 3 | |a In recent years, Georgia has brought up the importance of the honey industry in developing the Georgian economy, especially international trade. The state currently is import-dependent and has a negative trade balance, due to which Georgia has been encouraging the promotion of the export of domestic products which have high potential abroad and honey has been included in this list. Georgian honey is already being exported to the international markets, including the European Union, as well as Asian countries, however, the quantities exported are below the potential the state has. Due to this reason, it is essential to understand what are some of the factors influencing the export of Georgian honey. The research paper "The role of honey export in the development of the Georgian economy" aims to study the Georgian honey market and to perform a detailed analysis of the influence honey has on the development of the Georgian economy, specifically focusing on international trade and find the answer to the question: What advantages and challenges Georgian honey faces while being exported to the global market? In the process of achieving the goals and tasks defined by the bachelor's thesis, the data has been studied by using general scientific research methods. The material is collected and discussed with the help of SWOT analysis in the final chapter, where the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats which Georgian honey faces while being exported are evaluated. | |
