Kivonat:Inthe previous studies specific countries’ CAMELS system in the banks have beenwritten for instance in Islamic Banking, in Indian banking and in Bangladeshbanking and so on.Thisthesis discusses about CAMELS framework in 2 different Hungarian banks for thepurpose of getting to know the performance of OTP bank, and Budapest bank inlast few years. By the end of 19th century Hungary had Europeanfinancial system and heavy banking network, which caused the appropriate torefer to the ‘inherited backwardness’ of the banking sector to this extent thephases noted by the socialist period and the transition to market economy. The2-tier banking system in 1987 renewed the modern Hungarian banking system.Hungarian financial sector fell behind develop countries’ financial sector evenas regards territorial distribution.Thisthesis is based on the secondary data that has been uploaded in each bank’swebsite.Whenanalyzing the data, because it is quantitative information statistical analysismethod has been used in order to check the relationships between variables. Alldata have been taken from each bank’s annual reports between 2019-2021.Accordingto the CAMELS rating system, in terms of the OTP bank, its all factors ratingsare quite sufficient except the ‘liquidity’ factor, while in terms of theBudapest bank ratings are insufficient except capital adequacy and sensitivityratios.Keywords:Capital adequacy, Asset quality, Management, Earnings, Liquidity, Sensitivity
