520 3 |a Aftermy family opened a craft beer factory in 2018, I began to recognize that thisbranch has a potential for further development. I wanted to find the connectionbetween strategy and craft brewing, how it can be applied, in what time periodresults can be expected, in which direction do the craft brewery want to go,what are the main targets etc. I could also recognize the differences inapproaches to strategies. Going through all of this, it led me to make my mainresearch question for this study: ‘How are strategies developed in craft beerbusiness?’ The aim of this study is to research any connection between thestrategies and craft beer business and compare them, including all of theaspects of strategies of the two comparable companies. The target companieswould be craft breweries in Montenegro. In order to carry out a significantstudy, other researches will be considered. A questionnaire would be used as amethod of the most accurate way of collecting valid data. It is perceptiblethat the number of craft breweries is increasing in Montenegro, and thesignificance of this study includes both theoretical and practicalcontributions. The study will be followed up on and compared to previousresearches, providing support for future studies. It should be noted that thisis an area that necessitates innovation, changes and adaption to a variety offactors. As a result this study can be viewed as a part of the larger systemthat includes both managers and employees understanding. Furthermore, thisresearch may come up with new approaches, such as recommendations, solutionsand ideas. When it comes to the development of business strategies in the craftindustry, the literature review showed that the development of such strategiesis more a product of feelings, of local identity that is connected to traditionand customs. Following global trends combined with local heritage usually leadsto the formation of crafts and therefore strategies in that business. Given thefact that strategy development is a deep field that includes many factors, thefollowing research objectives are specified: relationship between strategydevelopment and craft beer companies, what factors are taken into account whenit comes to developing a strategy in craft brewing and the future strategicdevelopment of the given companies. In order to collect significant data forthis research the combination of face to face interviews and the questionnaireare used as a method of research. It was concluded that in order to develop a strategycraft breweries take into the consideration variety of information from bothinternal and external sources. Results showed that constant quality, innovationand education play significant role in the development. At the same time, following the dynamism of the market and keeping up with the global trends.Involvement of the people in this industry is crucial as everything starts fromthe consumer’s satisfaction. Results also showed that important part of thestrategic development are the foreign markets, where craft breweries with theirpresence, develop other opportunities for the development of their businessstrategies and plans.
