Abstract: | The global COVID-19 pandemic has emerged in late 2019. Its emergence marked an unusual public health crisis that engulfed the world at a rapid pace. With a remarkable speed, it spread to almost every country in the world. Consequently, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared it a global pandemic in March 2020. The impact of COVID-19 was significant and far-reaching. It affected practically every aspect of human life. It disrupted healthcare systems, challenged economies, and introduced a new normal, that involved social distancing, mask-wearing, and lockdowns. The pandemic forced individuals and communities to adapt quickly to an uncertain, constantly changing situation. This consequence of the epidemic has drastically changed humans’ everyday lives by reshaping daily routines, work environments, and consumer behaviors on a scale that has never been seen before. |
