Kivonat:The analysis presented in this thesis examines material management practices at GE Gas Power Veresegyház, offering valuable insights and practical recommendations to optimize procurement strategies. In essence, the thesis highlights the significance of adopting a tailored and diversified approach to material management. While the implementation of Reorder Point (ROP) can improve efficiency, especially for smaller and lower-value materials, the retention of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for larger and higher-value materials might be justifiable. The recommendations take into account the unique characteristics of each material category, aiming to strike a balance between operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.These recommendations establish a strategic framework for adjusting material management practices, ensuring a responsive approach to the ever-changing dynamics of the market. The thesis makes a meaningful contribution to the ongoing dialogue on supply chain optimization, providing insights derived from a case study conducted at GE Gas Power Veresegyház.
