Kivonat:Hungary has been a part of the European Union for 20 years, but the plans to adopt the euro have not been on the table of the government. Most countries who joined the EU have already switched over to the euro in their early years, with Croatia being the latest member of the Eurozone. The main question this thesis attempts to answer is that whether the ruling party Fidesz with its majority in the Hungarian government has any real chance of adopting the euro in the near future based on the requirements and should the government focus on prioritizing the matter.
