The study examines the hard and soft skills members gain through their involvement, assessing how these competencies translate into career opportunities and professional growth. It also evaluates AIESEC's Leadership Development Model to determine its relevance in preparing young people for the demands of the modern workforce. Primary data was collected through semi-structured interviews with five current and former members of AIESEC in Külker, all with at least two years of active involvement within the past five years. The interviews, conducted both in-person and online, provided in-depth insights into the participants’ experiences, challenges, and perceived outcomes of their engagement with the organization. Secondary data, including a literature review, contextualizes the findings by comparing the skills and leadership qualities promoted by AIESEC with those identified in broader leadership research. The analysis reveals that AIESEC contributes significantly to the development of leadership competencies, such as communication, adaptability, strategic thinking, and conflict resolution, alongside technical skills like data analysis and event management. These skills enhance members’ employability and align with many principles of effective leadership development identified in the literature. However, areas for improvement were noted, including greater adaptability to trends, and the inclusion of external training by professionals. By focusing on AIESEC in Külker, this research highlights the local implementation of global leadership principles, demonstrating the organization’s impact on individual growth while identifying areas to refine its model for the future. The findings contribute to understanding how youth organizations can shape leaders equipped for today’s complex challenges.
