Description
Abstract:The COVID-19 pandemic brought significant changes to payment habits: in an effort to reduce the risk of infection, the use of cash declined, while contactless and digital payment solutions gained increasing ground. The aim of my research is to explore how and to what extent the pandemic accelerated the development of technological solutions, including the rise of mobile payments, online transactions, and cryptocurrencies. The thesis also examines whether these changes may become long-term trends, while addressing issues related to financial accessibility and digital inequalities.
