Description
Abstract:The Paris Agreement and the United Nations Millennium’s Sustainability Development Goals – SDG’s, have called for a transformation of society. Through the digitization of industries and the integration of data and artificial intelligence in production processes, Industry 4.0 has been presented as an alternative for a cleaner and more sustainable productivity that fights climate change and inequality. Among the different questions that raises this alternative is world’s economies high dependence on extractive industries and high carbon footprint operations. This research attempts to understand the relevance of the extractive industries in Colombia, their challenges, and opportunities in a fourth industrial revolution period.
