Description
Abstract:Domestic violence against women is still a big issue in Ecuador. Femicide rates in the country have increased by 50% compared to 2021. Women's shelters are an effective mechanism to eradicate domestic violence. Nonetheless, even though there is an existing legal framework at the international and national levels, women are still victims of femicide. International organizations play a crucial role in fulfilling the duties of women shelters in the country and, together with the State, eradicate violence against women.
