Abstract:The main goal of this research was to uncover the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic ont he labor market of the Indian textile industry, as well as to answer to what extent and in what ways have employment changed in the sector.The respones to our research questions suggest that the pandemic has profoundly transformed the labor market of the Indian textile industry. While exposing weaknesses, it has also promoted modernisation and structural adjustment. The response to sustainability and digitalisation trends have opened up a new development path for the sector, especially for those actor able to adapt to the new environmental, technological and social demands.The pandemic has not only created a crisis, but also an opportunity for the industry to become more competitive, more resilient and more sustainable.Today, India's textile industry is not only adapting to global changes, it is actively shaping and repositioning itself on the world economic map.
